Sorry for the delay in updates - killer work schedule. Starting things off with a few new and returning food items over the next few posts. Considering these lightning round reviews... First up, Rockstar energy coffee:
Pretty good for a canned-iced coffee. The almond taste is there, which helps brings out the nutty flavor to counter-balance the sweetness of the beverage. Not a bad way to wind down the night or start the morning.

Schlotzsky's does breakfast now?! And Antelope - the Other Red Meat.

Austin, Texas based chain, Schlotzsky's Deli has come out with a breakfast menu filled with both sweet savory options (If I get up for breakfast and go to Schlotzsky's, I'm getting a Cinnabon).
Schlotzky's has also added to their dessert menu, a "Big S Cookie". - Basically a Salted Carmel, White Chocolate Chip Macadamia Nut, Chocolate Chip, or Sugar deep dish cookie, in the style of "BJ's, Restaurant and Brew House". Note:Pics and review of the cookie coming tomorrow. Now we arrive at the delicious and disappointing Antelope Burger from, "Zed's Restaurant" in Austin, Texas. Now, it's been a while since I had veal and I was excited for a more wild game'y tastes than I got. The burger comes on pretzel buns, a tad dry, but with a great mustard sauce on rubbed on them. The burger was really, really good, but honestly tastes like beef. Which is a little disheartening. So either A) The screwed up my burger order and didn't want to tell me and make me wait for a corrected one, or Antelope just tastes like beef, which is great, because beef is... well, beef. Triple A service at Zed's though, I don't think my coffee even got warm before a fresh pouring was given by a very attentive server.

Smoked Bison Steak - Yup.

I had the idea to try smoked bison because I love the gamey flavor produced by it. And I prefer Bison to beef when it comes to burgers, so I figured I'd (by "I", I mean my father) would give it a shot. I went with Bison steaks, as it was the easiest and quickest way I could obtain Buffalo. Steak tends to be much thinner than briskets on either cattle or Bison, so no more than 2-3 minutes a side in the smoker will get you wear you need to be. Dad and I decided to use some seasoning we purchased at Louie Mueller's BBQ, which as mentioned, is quite heavy on the black pepper. The result was quite what you'd expect and definitely something I recommend if you like bison or haven't tried it before. Next project I'm hoping to get a hold of Bison short ribs somehow. Can you imagine how huge they would be cut in the style which Louie Mueller's, Coopers and La Barbeque have made famous?! - *Excited*
